Courage and Compassion

P4 Rm7 mr wright

Mr Wright is our class teacher, but we are also taught by Mrs Henderson on Wednesday afternoons and Mrs Baptie on Friday mornings.

In P4 we work together to help each other do the best we can. We have our Class Recognition Board to show off our successes and achievements in both our learning and being ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’ around the school. We have a class charter which we have talked about and agreed on. We agreed that our Right to a quality education is the most important to us.

In the class we can earn “golden tickets” which give us a chance to choose something out our class prize box. We can also win certificates at assembly when we go “over and above” with our learning or for being Ready, Respectful and Safe around the school.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have PE. We have been learning creative dance, football and gymnastics. On Fridays, with Mrs Baptie, we explore different concepts of science and with Mrs Henderson we are learning Expressive Arts. We have Miss Dunlop and Mrs Robertson supporting our class.

So far this term, we have been learning about Perth Lade. We found out that it is at least 900 years old. It was once used as a moat around the old city wall, and it was also used for water mills. We have been out for walks along the Lade which has helped us learn about the different animals that live in our local area. We are looking forward to taking part in a project starting next week to help set up the New Perth Museum.

Every Friday we complete a Big Write task. We develop our VCOP skills throughout the week. Please ask your child each week about their Big Write as talking about it is a great way to develop our writing ideas.

We have a busy couple of months remaining in P4. We have two trips to look forward to. We are going to be visiting Stirling Castle and Perth Concert Hall. We are also taking part in a competition to grow and learn about potatoes.
